Methodology
Every article in this kit is built off the same underlying simulation: 20,000 full World Cup tournaments computed by Monte Carlo, anchored to FIFA-ranking-implied Elo ratings as of late 2025, with adjustments for host advantage, altitude, travel fatigue, and the empirical World Cup draw rate. Code, methodology, and per-match probabilities are all open-source on the site at /predictor/ai/.
Numbers are reproducible: any newsroom can rerun the simulator with adjusted Elo or new injury data and arrive at their own probabilities. We've deliberately kept the approach transparent so journalists can challenge or extend it during the tournament.
A live model-accuracy tracker activates when group-stage results begin landing on June 11.
